Eel Garden is one of the most fascinating dive sites in Aqaba, famous for its large colony of garden eels that live in the sandy seabed. As divers approach, hundreds of eels can be seen gently swaying in the current before quickly retreating into their burrows, creating a unique and mesmerizing underwater scene. The site features a mix of sandy areas and coral formations, making it a great location to observe a variety of marine life including reef fish, moray eels, and occasional rays. With generally calm conditions and good visibility, Eel Garden is suitable for divers of different experience levels and offers excellent opportunities for underwater photography. Located within the beautiful Red Sea waters of Aqaba, this dive site provides a peaceful and memorable diving experience surrounded by vibrant marine life and natural reef structures. Safety notes
As well as the obligatory garden eels, this site is home to an assortment of other interesting critters. Crossing the sand and heading left from the shore, there are several coral heads hosting yellow-mouthed morays and anemones.
